Certification procedure
- Application for certification
The certification process begins when a completed and verified Application form is submitted. For scope extensions or certificate renewals, a Declaration of Identity must accompany the Application form.
The Application will be deemed relevant only after resolving any potential ambiguities. The certification rules are detailed within the Application form.
- Costs
Upon acceptance of the Application for Certification, SCERT will issue an offer to the customer detailing the scope of certification, price, deadline, and commercial terms. The offer becomes binding once the customer submits a purchase order or a confirmed acceptance of the offer.
- Technical documentation
The customer must provide documentation that facilitates the assessment of product compliance with the requirements, including:
- Product description and its purpose, drawings, pictures, component list, technical characteristics, calculations, electrical schemes, software, and firmware versions, etc.
- Test reports (if available) and accreditation certificates of independent laboratories that conducted the tests
Tests can be conducted in our Laboratory Center or another laboratory with SCERT expert supervision. Additional tests are contracted separately.
- Issuance of certificate
A certificate will be issued only if the product meets all specified requirements. Should the product fail to meet these requirements, no certificate will be issued, and the customer will be invoiced for the services rendered up to that point.
- Surveillance
SCERT reserves the right to verify the customer's use of the issued certificate to ensure it aligns with the certification subject and scope. The extent of surveillance will depend on the certification scheme, as well as any complaints or market information received.
In cases of incorrect reference or misuse of the certificate, SCERT will issue a written warning regarding the irregularities and, if necessary, suspend the certificate.
- Complaints and appeals
If the customer has concerns or disagreements with SCERT's work or the certification decision, they may submit a written complaint or appeal. SCERT will thoroughly review each submission and provide a written response to the customer.
