2. What are cookies and how is personal data collected on websites?
Cookies are small files that a web browser stores on a computer, mobile device or other device used by a user to visit a website. They are stored based on the "instruction" of that website for its further needs. These needs/purposes can be different and depend on the function of the cookie, so for example, cookies can collect information about the language selected by a visitor for displaying content on multilingual websites, record the sequence of pages visited in order to allow users to navigate back through the website in the same order, and they can also be used to ensure basic functionality of the site, analyze website usage and enable marketing activities.
There are several types of cookies according to their function:
- Technical/necessary/essential cookies - necessary for the functionality of the website itself as well as its fundamental purposes of functioning, such as the session identifier of the user's current visit to the website.
- Functional cookies - enable the website to provide improved functionality and personalization, such as remembering the language in which the content of the website's pages is displayed
- Analytics cookies - collect information about how users visit a website and its pages.
- Marketing cookies - used for marketing purposes, and collect information about the habits and behavior of users on the website for the purpose of publishing advertisements, re-advertising, etc.
In general, it is important to note that, in addition to cookies, personal data about the user may also be collected through other similar technologies (tracking tools), or through services that are embedded in the website. External tools and embedded content on our website are listed below in the document with details on their use and type of tool.
3. How do we use cookies?
The following cookie categories are available in this website’s settings:
Necessary cookies
Necessary (technical) cookies are necessary for the proper functioning of the website and enable the use of its core functionalities. In accordance with regulations in the field of electronic communications, user consent is not required for their use.
Local storage for form protection and saving choices
In addition to cookies, Google reCAPTCHA uses browser local storage (localStorage). This website also uses local storage to retry recording cookie decisions after a connection failure and to synchronise choices between open tabs. The following entries are not cookies and have no cookie-style expiry date enforced by the browser. They may remain after the browser is closed until the application, service, user or browser removes them. You can remove them by clearing site data in your browser.
Functional cookies
Functional cookies and similar technologies are used with user consent to enable additional functionality provided by embedded services. On this website, this applies to the Google Maps display.
Google Maps loads only after functional cookies are accepted. During a technical check in a browser with no previously stored site data, opening the map and switching to satellite view did not set additional cookies. Google may still read previously stored Google cookies or use additional cookies and similar technologies, depending on browser and service settings, whether you are signed in to a Google account and how you use the map. For more information, see Google’s explanation of its use of cookies. Details of this service are listed in the external tools table below.
Analytics cookies
Analytics cookies are used based on user consent and to create website usage statistics.
Google Analytics 4
Marketing cookies
Marketing cookies generally support campaign measurement and advertising based on user consent. This website currently has no active standalone advertising service that sets marketing cookies.
The settings allow you to save your preference for this category. Accepting marketing cookies alone does not load Google Tag Manager or Google Analytics.
External tools and embedded content on the website
In addition to cookies, this website uses the external services listed in the table. Google Maps loads after functional consent, while Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics load after analytics consent. Google reCAPTCHA protects forms against automated misuse.
Depending on the selected service, the processing will include the IP address, browser and device data, visited pages, user interactions, and data voluntarily submitted by the user through the respective service.
4. Consent withdrawal and rights of the data subject
Your choice is stored for six months from confirmation. Visiting the website does not extend this period. You can reopen the settings using the cookie icon in the bottom-left corner or the link at the beginning of this notice.
You can withdraw or modify your consent for functional, analytics, and marketing cookies/tools at any time through the cookie settings available on the website.
Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing that was based on consent before its withdrawal.
In general, individuals whose personal data are processed have, under the conditions prescribed by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the right to request access to their personal data, rectification or erasure of their personal data, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object. Data subjects also have the right to file a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority (in the Republic of Croatia, this is the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency).
The processing of personal data carried out through the Company's websites does not include automated individual decision-making, which would produce legal effects in relation to the data subject or similarly significantly affect the data subject.
Cookie decision records (Consent log)
We maintain a server-side record of acceptance, rejection, changes of choices and withdrawal of consent. The record contains a random browser ID, a separate decision ID, the time received, language, selected categories and previous choice, together with a reference to the archived notice and interface texts that applied when the decision was made. It documents decisions and the information presented with them.
Decision records are kept for 365 days from receipt, after which regular automatic cleanup removes them. This period is separate from the six-month lifetime of the choice in the browser. A new choice creates a new record and does not extend retention of the previous record. Archived notice versions are kept separately.
The decision log does not store names, email addresses, IP addresses, the full browser User-Agent or the URL of the page visited. Recording starts when the system is activated; earlier decisions are not recorded retrospectively.
After a decision has been recorded successfully, including a rejection, you can open “Consent record details” in the cookie settings and copy your browser ID. You can provide this ID when contacting us about your recorded choices.
5. Data transfers to third countries
Some service providers whose cookies and similar technologies are used on this website will process personal data outside the EU and outside the European Economic Area (in the United States). This may apply in particular to service providers such as Google.
When personal data is transferred to third countries, the transfer is carried out in accordance with Chapter V of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), using one or more mechanisms/protective measures:
- the European Commission's decision on the adequacy of the level of data protection, including EU-US Data Privacy Framework for organizations certified under that framework (More at: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/)
- standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission (available on the European Commission website)
- additional technical and organizational protection measures (as applicable)
Data is transferred only to the extent necessary to provide the required functionalities, analytics, security and protection of the website.
For Google Analytics 4, Google states that it does not log or store individual IP addresses. The IP address is used to determine approximate location and is then discarded. This explanation applies to Google Analytics 4, not to all Google services. For more information, see Google’s documentation on data protection in Analytics.
