Expert Motor Condition Monitoring - EMCM
Electrical rotating machines are integral to modern life, appearing in various sizes and functioning both independently and within complex systems. Production processes rely heavily on the availability and reliability of motors used in power plants, refineries, chemical industries, foundries, mills, paper production, transportation, and more.
Equipping motors with an expert condition monitoring and fault detection system provides users with continuous insight into machine health and early detection of common motor faults.
EMCM is a tailored online solution for large and medium voltage synchronous motors. The system measures crucial motor parameters, allowing plant personnel to gain comprehensive insights into motor health.
The EMCM system can also integrate measurements from other drivetrain components (e.g., pumps, fans), providing a complete diagnostic picture. Its advanced features help plan maintenance periods and reduce inventory, overhaul, and labour costs.
Key features of the EMCM system include a comprehensive online monitoring system for low and high voltage motors of all sizes and capacities. EMCM is suitable for motors with both cage rotor and wound rotor designs and is a modular, upgradeable system for both new and existing motors. It enables long-term data storage and event tracking, with local and remote access available to users.
Based on proprietary measurement methods developed by KONČAR – Institute for Electrical Engineering, EMCM enables early detection of common faults in asynchronous motors.
In addition to early fault detection and preventing or mitigating the impact of motor failures and unplanned downtime, it supports predictive maintenance and better motor management.
Although EMCM solutions can be applied to any motor type, the necessity for fault prevention escalates with the motor's cost and its critical role in the plant's operations.
Users can access measurement data through a local touchscreen display (local HMI) and a web server (web application). Local visualization offers real-time data, waveforms, vibration spectra, trends, and settings. All screens can be customized to meet customer requirements, including the native language.
The EMCM system includes a multi-user web server that enables remote access and an overview of all system data via a standard web browser. This web server allows access to the EMCM system from any desktop or laptop computer (running Windows or macOS), tablet (iOS or Android), or smartphone (iOS or Android).
System access is available without needing to install additional software, using standard web browsers such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, or Safari. The web server provides insight into real-time data, vibration spectra, trends, waveforms, alarms, and other diagnostic tools.
We deliver comprehensive services to support the installation, commissioning, and operation of the EMCM system. Our services include consulting to identify the optimal system for new and existing asynchronous motors, performing installation and commissioning, providing user training, and offering expert analysis of the collected data.
