High power testing
The High Power Laboratory boasts unique capabilities in Croatia, particularly for high-current testing at low voltages (short-circuit current and breaking capacity).
Our laboratory conducts a wide range of type and special tests, including high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) switching devices and fuses, installation switching devices, connection accessories for industrial applications and transmission lines, medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) switchgear and controlgear, metal-enclosed busbars, and instrument and distribution power transformers. These tests comply with valid national and international standards (HRN, EN, IEC, GOST, etc.).
We specialize in various short-circuit tests, including short-circuit withstand tests for low voltage (LV), medium voltage (MV), and high voltage (HV) switching devices, switchgear, controlgear, current transformers, and other electrical equipment. Additionally, we conduct short-circuit tests for distribution power transformers. Our laboratory performs breaking capacity tests for LV switching devices and LV fuses and single-pole devices. We also carry out short-circuit tests for LV switching devices to determine arc energy and let-through specific energy (I²t). Furthermore, we assess the impact of arc propagation on parts and compartments during short circuits, with a particular focus on explosion-proof switchgear.
Our laboratory also provides comprehensive low-voltage tests, including complete type tests for switch disconnectors, motor and control switches, and fuses. We conduct characteristic tests for releases, bimetallic overload, and electromechanical relays, as well as vacuum switching device characteristics tests and electromagnet characteristics tests. Additionally, we perform temperature-rise tests for switching devices, switchgear, controlgear, and other equipment.
