KONČAR – Institute operates within the IECEE CB Scheme as both a National Certification Body (NCB) and a CB Testing Laboratory (CBTL).

As a CB Testing Laboratory, we execute test programs and issue Test Reports (TRs) according to IEC International Standards. Based on these Test Reports, our NCB issues CB Test Certificates.

What is the CB Scheme?

The CB Scheme is an international system that facilitates the mutual acceptance of test reports and certificates pertaining to the safety of electrical and electronic components, equipment, and products. It ensures these products meet the rigorous safety and performance criteria outlined by IEC standards.

Operating as a multilateral agreement between participating countries and certification bodies, the CB Scheme's goal is to facilitate global trade by harmonizing national standards with international ones and fostering cooperation among recognized National Certification Bodies (NCBs) worldwide.

CB Scheme certification procedure

An applicant submitting a CB Test Certificate can be a foreign manufacturer directly or via a representative resident in the country or a commercial agent.

The following product documentation should be submitted for the issuance of an IECEE CB Test Certificate:

• Application form (available on request)
• Product description (photographs or illustrations showing external features, marking, internal layout, and versions of software or firmware affecting compliance with essential requirements)
• Technical documentation (conceptual design, drawings and schemes, calculations, as well as descriptions and explanations necessary for understanding the drawings, schemes, and operation of the equipment)
• Instructions for use
