Operational and investment highlights of 2023

KONČAR – Electrical Engineering Institute has maintained stable and positive operations despite increasing challenges in power engineering and transport. Our economic growth is fuelled by exceptional R&D services, cutting-edge laboratories, and competitive advanced technological solutions rooted in ICT.

We are deeply involved in R&D, testing, supervision, and providing expertise across numerous KONČAR Group projects, playing a vital role in developing essential electronic and energy components. Beyond supporting our Group companies, our experts provide development and testing services to customers worldwide.

In 2023, our revenue from on-site testing and diagnostics surpassed expectations, and our Laboratory Center’s service income saw a significant increase. Key export products and services included laboratory tests for high-voltage equipment, monitoring systems for transformers and conductors, rotating machine monitoring systems, and development services for safety-critical embedded systems. Total revenue reached EUR 15.95 million, with 41% derived from testing, certification, and diagnostic services, 31% from proprietary products, and 28% from R&D.

The Institute operates solely on its own funds, free from interest, credit, and liquidity risks. Our short-term assets are 3.8 times greater than our short-term liabilities, with 42% of these assets in financial instruments and cash, ensuring sustained stability in our operations.

In 2023, our investment highlights included EUR 4.56 million allocated to fixed assets. We completed a major project, the new Laboratory for Power Systems and Drives (LAVESP), valued at EUR 4.82 million.
