Energy Metering System - EMS
The Energy Metering System (EMS) is a universal solution for all types of railway vehicles, designed to be easily adaptable to various train and locomotive models.
The EMS device facilitates the integration of all energy metering components, including CMF, VMF, and ECF. The device monitors consumed active energy, consumed reactive energy, recuperated active energy, recuperated reactive energy, and GPS location.
The energy billing system comprises measurement transformers (current and voltage) supplied by KONČAR – Instrument Transformers, a commercially available energy meter (LEM), and a computer based on the ECS platform. The entire system complies with EN 50463 and European LOC&PAS TSI standards, and operates independently from the vehicle’s control system. The computer gathers data from the energy meter, stores it locally, and transmits it to other train computers (wired) and to the railway infrastructure operator (wirelessly).
