High-voltage testing

Leveraging over 50 years of expertise, our High-Voltage Laboratory is dedicated to the testing of electrical power equipment. We engage in research, development, and commercial testing, adhering to international and national standards (HRN, IEC, EN, BSI, GOST, ANSI, IEEE, etc.).

Alongside standard-defined methods, the Laboratory employs proprietary techniques developed through extensive experience and is equipped with cutting-edge testing and measurement tools.

The newly inaugurated high-voltage laboratory is completely enclosed in a Faraday cage, measuring 30 x 35 meters in plan and 28 meters in height. The facility is equipped with three cutting-edge testing systems: a 1200 kV AC source, a 1200 kV DC source, and a 3.8 MV shock generator. Additionally, the Laboratory includes a 1200 kV, 960 kVA testing transformer, designed in a single stage rather than the typical cascade configuration.

The laboratory conducts type, special, research and development tests of power and instrument transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors and earthing switches, shielded gas insulated high-voltage plants, conductor and support insulators, overhead line and suspension equipment, high-voltage cables and HVDC cables.

Calibration of high-voltage measurement systems

A common query our laboratory staff receives from customers is: "Is your equipment calibrated?" followed by "Is it calibrated in an accredited laboratory?" Calibration in an accredited laboratory guarantees the reliability of measurement equipment and ensures traceability to national and international standards.

High-voltage measurement systems are calibrated according to IEC 60060-2 requirements, while PD calibrators are calibrated according to IEC 60270. The IEC standards recommend annual verification of efficiency and performance testing every five years.

Our Laboratory employs high-voltage measurement systems and instruments calibrated in accredited laboratories, maintaining traceability to national and international standards. We also perform feature checks and efficiency tests. With over 65 years of experience and global references in high-voltage testing and calibration, we are proficient in providing these services with state-of-the-art testing and measurement equipment.

Calibration can be conducted in our High-Voltage Laboratory or at the customer's location.
