MCM system successfully commissioned at Nyumba Ya Mungu HPP in Tanzania

The project features KONČAR’s flagship solution MCM (Machine Condition Monitoring) which was delivered to the customer at the end of 2021 as part of the reconstruction project on the management, safety and auxiliary power supply systems carried out by Telenerg.

The MCM system consists of measurement sensors for vibration, rotation speed and axial displacement, as well as a process-protection unit with software for the analysis of measurement signals. The system is set up to conduct real-time processing and analysis of measurement signals, and the results are dispatched to the management systems enabling user display and comparison with other process variables. In the event of excessive vibration, the MCM system activates protective functions and, if necessary, shuts down the aggregate to preserve capital assets and prevent possible additional damage.
